Quality Control Engineer (Bilingual Korean required)

Timpl has partnered with a global EV battery manufacturing company and they're looking for Quality Control Engineer.
 

Summary

Battery Quality is divided with two Sections, which are Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA). Quality Control (QC) is charge of internal Quality (From raw material to before shipment). Quality Assurance is charge of Quality Planning (QP) and Customer Satisfaction.

 

1.IQC (Incoming Quality Control) Engineer

IQC engineer in Quality Control (QC) is responsible for incoming inspections of raw materials used in the EV battery production process. This position will need to interact with wide range of stakeholders, including other teams, customers and vendors to solve complex and/or urgent problems regarding the raw material quality by identifying and evaluating alternatives. This Position also responsible for managing Inspection specifications and SIP (Standard of Inspection process) documents.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Incoming Inspections

  • Monitor and continuously improve the incoming inspection results (through SPC control)
  • Review and suggest a revision (if needed) of incoming inspection standards
  • Conduct inspection and cause analysis regarding the raw material quality non-conformity issues
  • Plan the corrective action for the non-conformity issues and verify the effectiveness of the action
  • Publish quality report regarding incoming non-conformity issue
  • Control of nonconforming product (marks identifier label, demand right of indemnity or ship back, and request rework)
  • Review and verify the supplier-suggested solutions and corrective action plans for the raw material quality non-conforming issues

 

Equipment Management

  • Regularly check and monitor the inspection equipment and conduct a calibration based on the equipment management standards
  • Place an order for the purchase of new inspection equipment
  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the inspection equipment

 

Quality Budget Management

  • Manage the operation/investment budgets regarding IQC

 

Supplier Audit (if HQ need to support)

  • Conduct a supplier quality/process audit
  • Report the audit result

 

Other tasks as necessary to meet the organization's objectives

 

2.PQC/OPC(Process/Outcoming) Engineer

PQC/OQC engineer in Quality Control (QC) is responsible for process quality inspection management and outgoing inspection of semi-finished products and finished products. This position will need to interact with wide range of stakeholders, including other teams, customers and vendors to solve complex and/or urgent problems regarding the process and outgoing quality by identifying and evaluating alternatives. This position is also responsible for managing Quality issues, validating corrective actions, and preventing defects from flowing through to subsequent

processes or customers.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Process Quality Control

  • Select and develop measuring instruments (specification, verification)
  • Manage inspector's ability (including education)
  • Develop and review/revise (if needed) the inspection methods
  • Identify the quality issue regarding production process
  • Set up and lead the meetings with relevant departments including production and process to identify the cause of non-conformity and to come up with the corrective actions
  • Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions for the process quality issues
  • Monitor and continuously improve the Process inspection results (through SPC control)
  • Set up and review/revise (if needed) the appearance requirements/specifications for the semi-finished product in the production process
  • Continuously lead process improvement for preventing defects from flowing through to subsequent process

 

Outgoing Inspections

  • Plan the outgoing inspection plan
  • Conduct the outgoing inspection and publish the grade certificate
  • Set up and review/revise (if needed) the appearance requirements/specifications for the finished products
  • Review and suggest a revision (if needed) of outgoing inspection standards
  • Conduct inspection and cause analysis regarding the outgoing quality non-conformity issues
  • Plan the corrective action for the non-conformity issues and verify the effectiveness of the action
  • Continuously lead process improvement for preventing defects from flowing through to customer

 

4M Change Management (if needed)

  • Lead to set up evaluation criteria regarding 4M change with relevant departments
  • Receive the 4M change application regarding the part, process, and product
  • Organize and lead the CRB (Change Review Board) committee with relevant departments
  • Verify the TR (Technical Review)
  • Co-work with CS or HQ to get approval from customer
  • Distribute the ECN (Engineer Change Notice)

 

In-line Product Quality Inspection Monitoring

  • Monitor the result of process patrol inspection results
  • Monitor the result of cell disassembly inspection
  • Monitor the outgoing inspection results by each Lot unit

 

New Production Line/Equipment Certification Management

  • Set up criteria for the new line/equipment certification
  • Receive the new line/equipment certification application
  • Organize and lead the certification evaluation committee with relevant departments

 

Process Inspection Instrument Management

  • Regularly check and monitor the process inspection instrument and conduct a calibration based on the instrument management standards
  • Place an order for the purchase of new inspection instrument
  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the inspection instrument

 

Quality Budget Management

  • Manage the operation/investment budgets regarding PQC/OQC

 

Production Issue Monitoring

  • Check field issue improvement progress
  • Monitor non-conforming product and production problems
  • Find and improve the vulnerability according to results of ORT (On- going Reliability Test)

 

Gate Audit Management

  • Conduct the pre-audit check for the items of gate audit
  • Review the mandatory documents for the PLM registration
  • Prepare and support the gate audit

 

Quality System Management (IT System)

  • Set up evaluation systems of B_QMS (Battery Quality Management System) and maintain it in real time B_QMS
  • Establish test standards by item, register revised versions, and analyze measurement system periodically

 

Other tasks as necessary to meet the organization's objectives

 

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or chemistry, material engineering, industrial engineering, electrical or electronic engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent

 

Experiences: 3+ years Quality Control experience in high-volume manufacturing, preferably within the battery or related industry

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate which is related with ISO 9001, IATF16949 (eg. Internal Auditor)
  • Certificate with Quality Control (eg. Six sigma GB, BB, CQE)
  • Battery Quality or Lab experience
  • Managing Chemical Laboratory experience

 

Skills

  • Knowledge of Inspection and Battery
  • Familiarity with IT systems related to manufacturing / Inspection, including MES / QMS and data verification tools
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods (ex. SPC, MSA)
