ABS/ASA Resins Technical Application Engineer (Bilingual Spanish/English required)
Timpl has partnered with a global chemical company and is looking for an ABS/ASA Resins Technical Application Engineer,.
Position Overview:
As a Technical Support Engineer, a satellite office for a leading global petrochemical, you will be instrumental in ensuring the process optimization of customers, and connect technical support with innovative application development for several industries including Automotive, Electronics, Home-Appliances and Consumer goods.
Your role will involve:
- Technical Troubleshooting: Provide advanced technical support for issues related to resin performance, production machinery and resin quality qualification. Diagnose and resolve complex problems in a timely manner to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with customer’s engineering and production teams to identify areas for improvement in processes and systems. Implement solutions to enhance performance, reduce waste, and improve overall production quality
- Customer and Vendor Interaction: Serve as the point of contact for external stakeholders, including customers and vendors. Address technical queries, manage regulatory compliance, and coordinate support for specialized polymer applications.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of support activities, including issue resolutions, system changes, and overall production trial agendas and schedules.
- Training and Support: Educate and train internal and external staff on the use of our resins and new technologies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that our proposal meet with relevant local and international regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsabilities:
- Externally Lead Customer Development projects (Support Production Trials, support technical exchange meetings, provide detailed orientation for customers).
- Generate Reports Properly internally to our Sales and Customer Solutions Team and provide insights to management on Technical challenges.
- Address customer queries directly, and support troubleshooting efforts.
- Work Closely to Customer Solutions and Engineering Teams (R&D) finding innovative and efficient solutions.
- Assist in the design and testing of new applications, analyze performance feedback in order to meet customer needs and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering /Industrial or Mechanical Engineering / Polymer Sciences or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Proven experience in technical support or engineering roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a focus on Polymers.
- Injection Molding Experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Experience with Regulatory documentation for polymers.
- Familiarity with production environment, machinery and manufacturing processes (Automotive Industry Experience would be desirable).
