Safety Manager (Bilingual Korean required)
Timpl has partnered with a 1 tier automotive supplier company for global company is seeking for a Safety Manager.
Summary
Under minimal supervision, the Safety Manager work with management, supervisors, and employees to create policies to protect employer property and keep employees safe. Such as, but not limited to hazard reporting processes, accident investigation procedures and basic safety rules. This position establishes and coordinates safety committee and conducts regular safety meetings. The safety coordinator is responsible for monitoring working conditions to ensure all activity is compliant with state and federal safety regulations. This person will ensure workspaces and plant equipment are up to safety standard and provides workplace safety training.
Principle Responsibilities
Conducts investigations to determine the cause of the accident and report their findings to avoid future incidences.
• Provides safety training on topics including fire prevention plans, fire protection and hazardous materials communication and document that each employee has completed the requirements.
• Conducts safety inspections to identify workplace hazards via periodic safety and health walk through inspections of all workplace facilities.
• Conducts or assists in plant 5S and safety inspections.
• Ensure that first-aid kits are well-stocked and fire extinguishers are easily accessible to employees.
• Serves as the company liaison to a retain physician schedules, physical examinations, and develops medical reports
•Orders safety gear and supplies for the workplace (PPE).
• Writes and revises company safety handbook (IIPP).
• Complete and maintain OSHA 300 log of work-related occupational injuries and illnesses and post the annual summary.
• Complete and store properly safety-related, records, reports, and other documents/files
• Conduct accident/injury investigations and illness exposure monitoring.
• Establish and monitor a program for reporting and investigating “near-miss” situations.
• Conduct investigations into employee inquiries, suggestions, and complaints.
• Maintain, track, and assist with Forklift Operator certifications.
• Maintain company vehicle check-out, ensuring drivers are insured and appropriately licensed to drive.
• Establish and monitor employer pull notice (EPN) program.
• Perform all work safely in a fast-paced work environment.
• Create and keep safety policy and regulations up to date under OSHA and federal compliance.
• Participates in team meetings and provide regular on-site project presence
• Report the status of project to HR Senior Manager
• Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
• Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety & health programs on premises or at project site locations
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Health/Safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in safety practices required.
•Experience with a manufacturing or processing company strongly preferred.
• Profound knowledge of state and federal safety guidelines for the workplace.
• Ability to read and interpret dense legal and federal OSHA documents.
• Ability to demonstrate familiarity with the job site machinery and products. • Close attention to detail.
• Good organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient, quick, and comfortable with personal computer navigation and operation.
• Overtime or weekend work is required occasionally.
